PROJECT: Senior Design
As part of my senior design project, we are currently reaching out to doctors, patients, and other health professionals in the neurological field. My team has been investigating unmet clinical needs to design a solution whether that be medical device or software package.
Having spoken to a nursing student, it has recently come to our attention that patients with eye disorders do not receive standardized tests for vision tracking. If we decide to pursue a solution to this unmet need, we would need to build a device that was affordable for hospitals and easy for people with impairments to put on. When considering a patient population such as this, questions we need to ask include how effective, comfortable, and affordable current methods of hospital eye tracking techniques are.
